Windows computers come with a series of integrated features and utilities, but not all of them will show on your computer by default. If you can't find the Windows Fax and Scan utility among your computer's programs, the feature probably hasn't been enabled on the system. Fortunately, Windows allows you to turn features on and off from the computer's Control Panel – you can therefore activate Windows Fax and Scan so the program shows on your computer.
Activate Windows Fax and Scan
To enable Windows Fax and Scan on your computer, click on 'Control Panel' from the computer's Start menu. From the Control Panel window, select 'Programs' followed by 'Turn Windows features on or off.' If prompted, you will need to enter your Windows administrator password to access this function. Windows displays a list of all available features in a new dialog window. A check mark beside the program indicates the feature is enabled on your computer, while an empty box shows that the feature hasn't yet been activated. Finding Windows Fax and Scan

You can crop an image before scanning it by clicking Preview in the New Scan dialog box. In the preview area, drag the handles of the cropping tool to resize the image. Some scanners can save individual documents or photos placed on the scanner bed as separate files on Windows 10.
